Lemon Grass as the name suggests, is a high tropical grass. The leaves and its stalks have lemon sort of fragrance as they contain essential oil that is in the peels of lemon. The grass is perennial and its roots are dense and tufted. Its short stems are underground and have ring segments. The grass blades can be up to 0.5 cm wide and 90 centimeters long. The oil carved from the grass has a pungent taste and lemonish odor.
The quantity of oil depends upon the age of the grass. The oil is found to have refreshing fragrance and properties. The oil is best suited as an antiseptic and as anti-odor. Also, it is used for foot baths and as foot talc to the bad smelling and sweaty foot. In addition it saves from fungal reactions and cures affects of ringworms.
