Black pepper oil is obtained from black pepper and it is produced by SCFE Co2 extraction of the crushed berries. Black pepper scfe co2 oil contains monoterpene hydrocarbons like thujene, pinene, camphene, sabinene, careen, myecene, limonene, phellandrene and sequiterpenes and other oxygenated compounds. The oil is colorless to bluish-green in appearance and has the characteristic odor of pepper. It does have the spiciness of pepper and the principal pungent compound present in the oil is piperine along with some essential oil. The berries of black pepper are called Piper nigrum L and both the black and white pepper comes from the same plant which belongs to the Piperaceae family.
